The effects of marketing activity are manifest in all our lives. Whether you’re simply deciding on a savoury snack, buying a new phone or deciding where to go on holidays, you are a consumer involved in a marketing experience. This course seeks to provide you with a solid knowledge base and understanding of marketing, effectively giving you a strong foundation upon which to build knowledge in this area.
The fact that marketing is observable all around makes it a lively subject that is easy to engage with. We have tried to reflect this in our approach to the teaching course. For example, you will be working in small groups on the ‘Marketing Challenge’, designed to be fast-paced and hands-on in which you develop the marketing of a product you have created yourselves.
By undertaking the challenge, you will be participating in a learning experience which provides you with a progressive understanding of marketing. Starting with segmentation, targeting and positioning and the 4 Ps of the ‘marketing mix’, you will build on your learning and move more critically towards the wider, more complex issues which impact marketing decisions.
